View FAQs

Updated: 7/01/2025

When does enrollment begin?

We give our current families the first opportunity to renew, which starts in April. We then open enrollment to all new families in May. Families interested in our program are required to fill out our interest form.

What are the start and end dates for the after-school program?

Our schedule aligns with the San Francisco Unified School District calendar. The academic year generally runs from mid-August to early June.

How do I secure a spot in your afterschool program?

Our team will review your interest form to determine program availability. If a spot is open, we will contact you with the next steps. To complete your registration and secure the spot, a one-time, non-refundable fee of $250 is required.

Will I receive a refund on the registration and monthly membership fees if I cancel before the program starts mid-August?

The registration fee is non-refundable.

You will receive a refund minus an admin fee of $50 and associated credit card fees for the monthly membership fees.

We do not guarantee a refund on the monthly membership fees if your cancellation is not received by 11:59pm on August 1st. You must submit a cancellation to afterschool@stemful-sf.com by August 1st.

Do you offer the afterschool program during school holidays?

No, we offer full day camp programs during school holidays. Your monthly membership DOES NOT include these camp days.

Do you prorate the monthly membership fee?

The program fee for August is prorated at 50% to reflect that our program begins mid-month, aligning with the start of the school year.

For June, the program fee is calculated at a daily rate of $40, as the program does not run for the full month.

For all other months, a flat monthly membership fee applies. Please see our Curiosity Club (grades TK-1st) and Curiosity Creators (grades 2-5) program pages for specific rates.

How do I cancel the program during the school year?

To cancel your membership, email afterschool@stemful-sf.com at least 10 business days before the start of the month. Otherwise, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 25% of the monthly program cost.

Do you prorate for mid-month cancellations?

No, we do not offer prorated refunds. Monthly payments are non-refundable.

Do you prorate for missed days?

No, we do not offer prorated refunds. Monthly payments are non-refundable.

What is your sick policy?

We know that sick days happen! If your child isn’t feeling well, please have them rest at home until they are symptom-free. This simple step is crucial for protecting the health of all the children and staff in our programs.

For us to best support your child, especially if they have an allergy, asthma, or another condition we should be aware of, please send a note to afterschool@stemful-sf.com.

Please be assured that any health details you share are treated with the utmost confidentiality and are only accessible to staff members who need the information to ensure your child’s safety.

Can I decrease or increase the number of days my child(ren) will attend?

Of course! We’re happy to help with that. Just send an email with the details of your requested change at least 10 business days before the start of the month to afterschool@stemful-sf.com. We’ll get everything squared away so your new schedule/plan can begin on the first of next month.
