Your child’s birthday is coming up, and the pressure is on to mark the special occasion with something fun and engaging. If the chaos and mess of holding a party indoors at home—or the potential for a rainout in the park—has you stressed, don’t fret!

Host your party at STEMful instead! All you need to do is bring your guests and your birthday treats, and we’ll handle the rest. Hosting a party at STEMful is like hosting a party at your home, except you don’t have to deal with the mess and having to worry about an organized activity for the kids.

Read on for our tips on how to plan a successful STEMful party, for ages 2-10, that’s educational and fun for kids.

We love the idea of email invites!

Party-Planning Basics

No matter where you’re having a party, there are some basics you’ll need to know in order to plan: when you will have it and who will be coming.

When?

Giving yourself plenty of time to plan (a month or two at least is ideal) means guests are more likely to be able to attend and to make your child’s day extra special. For a STEMful party, it’s best to reach out to us and request the date at least two months ahead of time to ensure you’re able to secure the date you want.

A little behind schedule? Reach out to us up to a month before the desired party date, and if the date is open, we can work to accommodate you. To secure the date, STEMful requires a nonrefundable deposit.

Who?

Once you’ve decided on a date, it’s time to invite guests. Involving your child in the process can be helpful to you and fun for them, so ask them to assist you as you make the list of whom to invite. Depending on their age, you may need to fill in any oversights. Will you include your extended family? Will the kids be dropped off, or are their parents invited too?

Once you have the list of invitees, you’ll want to gather email addresses if you’re sending an e-invite, or home addresses if you’re going the traditional route.

Remember: if you opt for paper invites, be sure to allow extra time for your mail to arrive and to give invitees plenty of time to RSVP. Allow even more time if you’re mailing invites around the end-of-year holidays.

How to Plan a STEMful Party

Once you’ve secured the date and invited your guests, it’s time to plan the details. STEMful parties are activity driven, adding some structure to your child’s party and making your event fun and educational. You can choose based on your budget or guest list. Be sure to decide how you’d like to accommodate additional kids who aren’t included in the main activity count.

Choose a Party Package

STEMful offers two party packages, the Classic and the Exclusive.

The Classic party package is for up to 55 guests and includes a two-hour party with a 45-minute main activity for up to 15 participating children. If you invite more than 15 kids, you can include more kids in the main activity for $20* per child.

The two-and-a-half-hour Exclusive party is for up to 65 guests and includes a one-hour main activity for up to 20 kids. Both packages include STEM-themed decorations and plates, cups, utensils, and napkins. If the guest count changes and you need to switch the party package, we’re flexible! Just let us know at least 2 weeks in advance. We can welcome up to 65 total guests!
